SHEILA BAYLEY B.1986
Sheila Bayley (born 1986) is a Kenyan artist based in Nairobi. Her style is easily recognizable for its vibrant patterns, distinct black lines, and conceptual figurative forms. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology, she explores the balance between nature-nurture, and how it determines human behavior.
Bayley’s current body of work is mostly influenced by architecture, fashion, and the search for an evolved sense of self and identity. It comprises various sizes of acrylic and mixed-media paintings on canvas, paper, and board. She has a deep connection and passion for the development of Art in East Africa, and dreams of creating a system of education that is centered around Art, as a life skill and career.
In 2021, she was the guest artist – at Kobo Open Studio Art Sale & Exhibition in Nairobi. Her artworks are part of private collections locally and internationally in Zanzibar, Miami, New York, Paris, UAE, and Australia. With an advancing career, she is open to both local and international collaboration opportunities, residency, and exhibition programs.
